The assembly needs
to be water proofed if left out in all weather conditions. The standard
polarisation for 10ghz ATV is horizontal. That is to say the widest part of
the wave guide should be vertical. This has to be remembered if the system is
being assembled on a tilt over tower. It is easy to get the polarisation 90'
out and so no signals could be seen.
If the TX horn is to be mounted at the top of the mast or anywhere remote
from the modulator unit it can be fed with standard cheap 75ohm TV coax as
there is no RF going up it only 7v dc with video superimposed on it. However
extra components must be added at the horn end to prevent ringing of the
verticals in the transmitted picture
